Invasive Weed Reports

We have considerable expertise and an enviable track record in producing Invasive Weed Survey Reports that enable house sales to progress. Our reports are comprehensive, and include considerations of knotweed or bamboo etc. on adjoining land, as well as fully costed recommendations for remedial works. They can be submitted to solicitors, mortgage lenders, purchasers and other interested parties. All of our surveyors hold the Property Care Association (PCA) Certificated Surveyor in Japanese Knotweed (CSJK) qualification and The Knotweed Company is an active member of the PCA. Where the presence of Japanese knotweed is uncertain, we can provide a Verification Survey Report service.

Herbicide Treatment Programmes

Herbicide treatment programmes are cost-effective, environmentally sustainable and are accepted by the majority of High Street Lenders as being a valid option. They cost far less (and use less resources) than an excavation. All our herbicide programmes come with a guarantee and a Certificate of Completion. Works are carried out by competent, experienced and qualified personnel, all of whom hold NPTC spraying certificates. Members of our team have been working with Japanese knotweed for over a decade and are either qualified Japanese knotweed technicians (PCA QTJK) or Surveyors (PCA CSJK).

Excavation and Root Barrier Installation

Excavation options are available for some properties (subject to site assessment). Most typically, this option is used if building works are to take place on, or adjacent to, a knotweed area, though can also be employed to obtain speedier use of affected land. Root barrier installation can be utilised for a number of purposes, including preventing knotweed encroachment from neighbouring land, protecting foundations of new building works (e.g. extensions, conservatories, etc.) or capping partially excavated knotweed. Our personnel have the experience and the qualifications to conduct these works, which come with a Certificate of Completion and a guarantee. Excavation and root barrier options may need to be combined with a Herbicide Treatment Programme where necessary. Other services include the removal of close-to-surface rhizome with a follow-up monitoring and treatment programme.
