Consultancy and Commercial Surveys

Unsure if a plant is knotweed? The Knotweed Company offers a free identification service. Please email us a photograph of your suspect weed and we will confirm or otherwise (subject to the clarity of the image) the presence of Japanese knotweed.

We have thousands of clients using our surveying and/or consultancy services, including developers, private homeowners, housing associations, landowners and local authorities. We have considerable expertise in producing reports and management plans for mortgage companies and clients.

We are proud to be active members of the Property Care Association (PCA) and are also accredited to Trustmark and Safecontractor.

All of our surveyors hold the PCA Certificated Surveyor in Japanese knotweed (CSJK) qualification. Our Director, Brian Taylor, and our Southern Regional Manager, Jim Glaister, were both awarded the PCA Student of the Year for their CSJK examinations (in 2017 and 2015 respectively).

As a result of our consultation on an important construction project in Cornwall, we were awarded the PCA Project of the Year in 2018 (click here for case study).. Our innovative thinking enabled the project to proceed despite a substantial Japanese knotweed presence and a history of previous site disturbance.

Our staff has provided knotweed and invasive weed presentations to a wide range of clients, including RICS, County Councils, property management groups, mortgage providers and environmental consultants. Members of our team have also presented at PCA annual Invasive Weed Conferences.
