The Knotweed Company is one of the most experienced and competent contractors working with Japanese knotweed and other invasive weeds. Our professional team began working exclusively with Japanese knotweed (as well as other invasive plants) in 2004 and since then has successfully completed a vast number of excavations, herbicide programmes, cell burials, bunds, root barrier installations and a variety of combined solutions. We have experience of both small and large projects and operate throughout England and Wales, as well as the Channel Islands (and elsewhere if requested). Health and Safety is a key factor in our work. We operate to the highest standards and are always looking to improve.
Our operational staff hold appropriate qualifications, such as SSSTS or SMSTS, as well as CSCS cards. All operational staff hold the appropriate certificates to apply herbicides (NPTC PA1, PA6AW as a minimum) as well as holding the appropriate qualifications for Japanese knotweed, such as the PCA’s CSJK (Certificated Surveyor in Japanese knotweed) or the QTJK (Qualified Technician in Japanese knotweed). We are active contributors to the PCA Invasive Weeds Control Group and have greatly influenced both the creation and running of the examination systems for both knotweed Surveyors and Technicians.
As well as being a full contracting member of the PCA, we are accredited with Constructionline (Gold), Safecontractor and Builders Profile.
The Knotweed Company were awarded the PCA Project of the Year in 2018 for innovative thinking that enabled an important construction project to proceed despite a substantial Japanese knotweed presence and a history of previous site disturbance. Click here for the case study.
